New Hampshire Rejects Federal COVID Grant

On October 13th, the New Hampshire Executive Council voted 4-1 to reject a $27 million federal grant to combat COVID. The money was rejected by hardcore conservatives now in control of the NH government because it would have required NH to work with the Federal Health and Human Services Agency on COVID and vaccine mitigation measures.
As New Hampshire Congressman Chris Pappas points out, New Hampshire has very low vaccination rates, and rejecting the Federal boost will make sure that NH stays at the bottom of the compliance list.
The Councilors rejected the money because thousands of “health freedom activists” have been protesting it for months at the statehouse and elsewhere.
Even Governor Sununu called the rejection by the Councilors “reckless”.
Every other state, which was offered the same grant under the same terms, accepted this partnership with their Federal Government, making New Hampshire the least progressive approach to coronavirus.
This latest move by the increasingly libertarian-controlled government of New Hampshire demonstrates why progressives, especially those who hope to emerge alive from this pandemic, should reject New Hampshire when choosing their forever home.

This state sickens me. I lost a loved one to COVID and think you are onto something with leaving. I’ve been thinking for a while now even without this project about leaving for NJ or NY. Please continue to keep us informed about how terrible this state is. Maybe we can get more progressives together so we can have a socialist utopia in NY.
